Orlando Skyscraper coaster sounds scary but what does 570 feet really look like?

Just a little over a week ago, rumors of an Orlando polercoaster were confirmed at a press conference on the future site at Sand Lake Road and International Drive. The polercoaster, which will be called the Skyscraper, will be part of an entertainment complex known as the Skyplex, which is slated to open in 2016

The Skyscraper will stand at 570 feet tall, but how tall is that really? You can see the answer for yourself in the video accompanying this article, as members of the press had a chance to view the construction area from a hovering helicopter. It soared up to the point where the new coaster will top out to give a breathtaking view of the project's scope.

If that looks a little too scary to tackle in roller coaster form, you can always opt to ride one of the glass elevators up to the observation deck and restaurant. If you dare to brave the Skyscraper, its height won't be the only intimidation factor. The coaster will also feature drops, inversions, and other thrill elements as it makes its way back to the ground.

If you'd like to see the full polercoaster press conference, go to this article to see the video. For an interview with Joshua Wallack, who's developing the project along with his father, David, of Mango's Tropical Cafe fame, go here.
