Orlando Magic trade rumors have the team pulling off a deal with the Denver Nuggets. These Orlando Magic trade rumors indicate that the team is dealing veteran guard Arron Afflalo back to the team he played for from 2009-2012. According to a report from ESPN on Thursday (June 26), the Magic will receive guard Evan Fournier and the 56th pick of the 2014 NBA Draft in return. On the surface it seems like a very one-sided deal, but it gets some more money off the payroll.

Afflalo is slated to make a little over $7.5 million this upcoming season and also has a player option for $7.75 million in 2015-16. Jettisoning his salary gives the franchise even more cap room to pursue some of the bigger free agent targets out there this offseason. It puts them under $30 million in total salaries, meaning they could potentially go after two max deals in free agency if they were able to trade off another player that just makes a few million.

These Orlando Magic trade rumors definitely prove that the team is looking to make huge changes, especially since Arron Afflalo was the leading scorer for the team last season. He averaged 18.2 points per game and could be a really important piece of the puzzle for the Denver Nuggets now. Putting him back in the starting lineup with Ty Lawson improves the roster by quite a bit, plus they have the No. 11 selection in the draft to add another piece.

In the updated 2014 NBA Draft order, Orlando maintains the No. 4 and No. 12 selections, meaning two really good young players are about to get added to the roster on Thursday night. Adding even more talent to the court with Victor Oladipo, Tobias Harris, and Moe Harkless could make this a very talented team in the Eastern Conference. It wouldn't be surprising at all if they were able to make it into the 2015 NBA Playoffs.

One of the players that Orlando has been recently linked to in the first round is Marcus Smart of Oklahoma State.
