Orlando Honda Civic turbo hatch with 826 horsepower

It is truly amazing to see a vehicle with such small displacement create large amounts of power. By help of a turbocharger, this 1993 Honda Civic hatch was able to generate 826 whp on Central Florida Turbo's dyno! Running at 39 p.s.i. this vehicle was able to generate 498 ft. lb. of torque as well!

The large gap between horse power and torque is due to the small 1.6 liter displacement of the engine and only having four cylinders. Do not let the lack of torque fool you, this vehicle is front wheel drive and extremely light weight. This combination of traction advantage and low weight lets vehicles like this one claim quarter mile times under 10 seconds. Take a look at these stock specifications to see how much improvement Orlando based CFT did for this Civic!

1993 Honda Civic hatch stock specifications:

  • 1.6 liter inline four cylinder engine
  • 125 hp @ 5500 RPM
  • 106 tq @ 3000 RPM
  • 29/35 mpg
  • 2326 lb. curb weight

It's pretty obvious this vehicle is no longer claiming the same gas mileage, but the improvements are well worth the small drop in fuel economy. Even with a large turbo, upgraded high pressure fuel system, and intensive tuning these vehicles can still capture 20 mpg or better. The timeless appeal of a classic Civic with enormous amounts of power will continue to live on for JDM generations to come. Great job Central Florida Turbo for making this Honda Civic hatch a very impressive JDM!

The cars in England get great mileage. I know the gallon is larger but gas goes much further.

That car is crazy sick, BUT...They need to couple that thing with a supercharger, the TQ is horrid. As a drag car who cares, but if it's a streetcar like CFT is famous for that thing needs a better TQ curve.

Pity they RUINED the wonderful engine/turbo sounds with crap music.
