Friday January 24th Cuban midfielder Yordany Alvarez re-signed with the Orlando City Soccer Club. He is the second figure to sign with the team for the upcoming transition from the USL Pro Leage to MLS in 2015. Alvarez played for the Real Salt Lake soccer club before transitioning to the Lions. In the 2011 season with the Lions he was selected as the MVP. He will be a great addition for the MLS upcoming season along with midfielder Kevin Molino who was the first to re-sign with Orlando City on January 10th. Orlando City also plans to expand its roster along with the move and will spend much of the year scouting including college drafts. Orlando City has won USL Pro's Leage Championship twice in last three seasons. With this base and this upcoming year's transition will help build its foundation for the start of its MLS season.
Before starting its long awaited journey to the Major Leagues, Orlando City will compete in the 5th annual Walt Disney World's Pro Soccer Classic at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports. Disney's Pro Soccer Classic is scheduled for February 19 through March 1.
