December is the month for giving and there are several events coming up this month that feature live music from Orlando bands as a backdrop for charitable events that give back to the community. These events are great opportunities for local music fans to enjoy live music and donate to some great causes during this Holiday season.

There are a ton of other special charitable events coming up in Orlando, but these were the ones that featured live music and a good cause. These events are great opportunities for local music fans to go out and enjoy some live music while giving back to the community at the same time.

December 14

The Drunken Parrot Saloon - 3447 13th St. (Saint Cloud) – Music fans can enjoy live music from Orlando band Control Freak as they perform and collect for Santa for Seniors. They will be collecting socks, soaps, puzzles, cards, robes, slippers, etc for the elderly. Several local children will then visit with groups of seniors, sing carols, enjoys cookies, deliver the gifts and share Christmas at a local assisted living home.

Gibson Showroom - 25 E. Central Blvd. - Rock for the Homeless featuring live music from Orlando band Sknn. There is an $8 cover charge and the event kicks off at 8:30 p.m. Proceeds to benefit the benefit Orlando Union Rescue Mission.

revival - 2400 US Hwy. 27 S. (Clermont) - Clermont Rocks , revival, and H. Productions present The 5th annual Rockin XMAS Benefit concert featuring live music from Orlando area bands A Thousand Times Better, Tin Can Rally, Vapid, The Sonic Explosion and Lost in Progress for this special 21+ show. The music starts at 7 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge or FREE entry if you bring a new, unwrapped toy for donation.

December 15

Wills Pub - 1042 N. Mills Ave. - The Holiday edition of Southern Fried Sunday featuring live music from Orlando’s Thomas Wynn and Friends, Bad Santa and the Angry Elves and The Bloody Jug Band along with Hymn For Her for this special show. The SFS dinner will be provided by The Smiling Bison. They will be collecting donations of funds and unwrapped toys for Kids Beating Cancer during the event.

December 19

The Lucky Lure - 1427 N. Orange Ave. - Toys For Tots event featuring live music from Orlando singer/songwriter Big Ron Betts. There will also be a raffle and auction. This event starts at 5 p.m. Bring a new unwrapped toy or a cash donation for Toys For Tots.

December 20

Oasis Saloon - 23800 SR 46 (Sorrento) - Music fans can enjoy live music from Orlando band Control Freak as they perform and collect for Santa for Seniors. They will be collecting socks, soaps, puzzles, cards, robes, slippers, etc for the elderly. Several local children will then visit with groups of seniors, sing carols, enjoys cookies, deliver the gifts and share Christmas at a local assisted living home.

December 20

House of Blues Orlando - 1490 E. Buena Vista Dr. - Orlando Rocks For Tots presented by Mels Bad Girls Club featuring live music from Orlando bands SoulSwitch, Gorillafight and Born From Ashes with Tampa band Not Tonight Josephine for this show. FREE tickets are available from the bands. Guitar Center of Winter Park has donated a white Jackson soloist guitar that will be signed by all the band members and raffled off. Mels Bad Girls Club will be collecting toys and monetary donations for Toys For Tots. The doors open at 7 p.m.

December 21

Mills Ave. - Brian Chodorcoff presents An Orlando Tribute to Jimi Hendrix featuring live music from Orlando bands The Absinthe Trio, Savi Fernandez, The Dropa Stone, Jessy Martens, funkUs, New Originals, Jeff Nolan, Rocketfish and more for this special show. There will be art from local artists on display and for sale as well as a canned food drive. Tickets are $11 or $10 with a canned food donation. The show starts at 9 p.m.

December 22

The Veranda at Thornton Park - 111 North Summerlin Ave. – Heart Strings Music presents The 10th Annual Lennon Tribute Christmas Party Fundraiser. The all day, all ages event showcases music and art celebrating the life and work of John Lennon featuring live music and art performances by Orlando and Central Florida bands and artists The Actomatics, Gaby Aparicio, Bad Santa & The Angry Elves, Chuck Culbertson, The Fling, funkUs, Gerry Williams, Juno Smile, Nick Landess, My Generation, The RedCoats, Stephen Rock & Brian Chodorcoff, Jim O’Rourke &The Rugs, David Schweizer, Wheeler Newman & The CRC, Thomas & Hannah Wynn, Gene Zimmerman, Beartoe, British Invasion, Beatlish, J-Sun, Shewbird, Stahl in Time and more. Admission is only $10 per person. Proceeds will be used to benefit local singer/songwriter Steve Garron who needs a kidney transplant. This event starts at 2 p.m.
