British actor Orlando Bloom and Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr have separated after three years of marriage. On Oct. 24, 2013, E! News reported that Bloom's publicist released this statement: "In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months. After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation. Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family."
Bloom (who is 36) and Kerr (who is 30) began dating in 2007 and got married in 2010. They have a son named Flynn, who was born on Jan. 6, 2011.
Bloom is best known for his roles in the first three "Pirates of Caribbean" movies and "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. He reprises his "Lord of the Rings" role as Legolas in the 2013 movie "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug." Bloom is currently starring as Romeo in the Broadway revival of "Romeo and Juliet," co-starring Condola Rashad as Juliet.
Bloom did an interview on "Live! With Kelly and Michael" that aired on Oct. 25, 2013, but there was no mention of his marital problems in the interview.
Before the announcement about their separation, Kerr and Bloom were last photographed together by paparazzi on Oct. 8, 2013.
According to E! News: "Bloom recently put his Hollywood Hills home on the market for $4.5 million. He had been renting it out for $16,500 a month while he and the family were living in NYC."
The separation comes after months of rumors that Bloom and Kerr were headed for divorce. Several tabloids have hinted that Kerr had been unfaithful with Leonardo DiCaprio. Bloom and Kerr have not publicly commented on these infidelity allegations or what went wrong in their marriage.
Before Bloom and Kerr got together, Bloom dated actress Kate Bosworth for a few years.
