Orlando Bloom and Djimon Hounsou join Zulu

Orlando Bloom and Djimon Hounsou have joined the cast of the police drama Zulu.

Based on the novel by French author Caryl Ferey, Zulu centers around two Cape Town police officers investigating the death of the 18-year-old daughter of a rugby champion, a case that is tied to South Africa's apartheid past. Bloom will play Brian Epkeen, while Hounsou will play Ali Neuman.

Bloom is currently in New Zealand filming Peter Jackson's The Hobbit; he also has two other films in production, including William Nunez's The Laureate. Hounsou will soon begin filming the fantasy epic Paradise Lost.

Production on Zulu is set to begin this July under the direction of Jerome Salle.
