Registration opened up January 6 for Orlando bands to submit to be part of the Hard Rock Rising 2014 Global Battle of the Bands. Registration runs until 4 p.m. EST on January 27 for bands to compete in this year’s global battle.

Again this year, Orlando’s Hard Rock Café is one of the participating café’s in the contest. Bands must be from a 100 mile radius of a participating Hard Rock Café and register through their Facebook page to compete. Only five bands will be selected from the Orlando Hard Rock Café through fan voting to compete, with a sixth band chosen by the local contest administrator. The online voting will take place February 3-17.

The top five bands that win the first round through fan voting will then perform at live battle events to determine a winner from each market area. That winning band will win $250, a $250 Hard Rock gift certificate and move on to the next round of the competition. Then it is back to online voting to determine the global top 25 bands for the judges to then choose an overall winner and two runners up.

The grand prize is an all expenses paid trip and guaranteed spot to play this summer’s Hard Rock Live music festival in Rome’s Piazza del Popolo. Two runners up will win $10,000 worth of band gear.

Orlando area bands head over to the Hard Rock Café Orlando’s Facebook page to register and submit your original music track for review. There is no registration fee for bands to participate. See the local contest page for a link to the complete contest rules. Good Luck!
