On March 19, 2014, former JLS member Oritsé Williams attended an event to promote the launch of WaterAid's watergraphs (water photographs) for World Water Day at Canary Wharf in London.

Williams tweeted on March 19, 2014: "Great morning at Canary Wharf where I made a pledge via the AquaScript in support of @WaterAidUK. #WWD14 #EveryoneEverywhere #by2030 ... 3days til #WorldWaterDay! A world where #EveryoneEverywhere has clean water by 2030 ! We're gonna fight for this all the way into the House of Lords till the UK government takes lead on it! #WaterAid."

JLS came in second place on "The X Factor" U.K. in 2008 and amicably disbanded in 2013. In the years before the breakup, JLS had several No. 1 and Top 10 hits in the U.K. and Ireland, headlined arenas in the U.K. and Ireland, and won two Brit Awards. The group members (Williams, Marvin Humes, JB Gill and Aston Merrygold) have been heavily involved in raising money for Sport Relief, which aids underprivileged children. In March 2012, JLS visited Uganda to bring raise money and bring awareness for the clean water and vaccinations needed to prevent diseases.

JLS's single "Proud" was the official 2012 song for Sport Relief. "Proud" debuted at No. 6 on the U.K. singles chart for the week ending March 31, 2012.

The members of JLS participated in the London leg of Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile at Horse Guards Road on March 25, 2012.

As previously reported, JLS headlined a Sport Relief charity concert at the O2 Arena in London on March 24, 2012. The group also performed on the 2012 edition of "Let's Dance for Sport Relief." BBC televised both events in the U.K.

Since JLS broke up, the former members of the group have gone on to pursue different projects. Williams is a personal manager of music acts and is working on a solo album. Merrygold is also launching a solo career. In January 2014, Sky 1 announced that Merrygold would not be returning as a judge on the talent show "Got to Dance." Humes is currently a co-host of "The Voice" U.K. and is a DJ on Capital FM. Gill seems to have left the music business behind, since he has told the media that he wants to focus on being a farmer.
