There is a strong meteor shower tonight and if clear skies are in the forecast in your area, then you will be able to see them. The annual Orionid meteor shower will appear tonight in the northeastern sky and will shoot in all directions. The showers occur from October 17-25th and will peak on October 21st (tonight) and 22nd when 20-25 shooting stars should be visible each hour.

The Orionid meteor showers move quickly and will pick up after midnight, and be visible until dawn. And according to scientists, this year's meteor shower should be more visual because of waxing crescent (no interference).

There will be little moonlight tonight, but scientists have suggested keeping your eyes diverted from the moonlight to watch the meteor showers.

The forecast for Salt Lake City is mostly cloudy until 11 pm, then clear for the rest of the night.

Hey all! I am in the Carolinas and I saw a lil bit of activity around midnight then I got up around 5am, fixed some hot cocoa and then went outside where it is really clear and chilly crisp. YES! FINALLY AFTER A 15 MINUTE WAIT I SAW SOME PRETTY COOL ACTIVITY for an hour and a half. I counted about eight! It's my mother's birthday today so she was a great sport getting up wtih me while visiting her. We are off to her birthday destination win a few hours, so when we get there, we will see if we can see more activity tonight. I kissed the sky tonight... Hendrix would be proud.
