NEW YORK--The Baltimore Orioles were innings away from being swept in Yankee Stadium until the Orioles rallied for a 7-3 victory over the New York Yankees Sunday afternoon.
J.J Hardy and Adam Jones each hit a three run home run in the top of the seventh inning after the Orioles' offensive plans were flat earlier in the game.
"A seven-run seventh, that's nice," said shortstop J.J Hardy. "We were a little flat. We could all see it. We could all feel it. That was big fr u. Hopefully that Jump-starts our September."
The Orioles rally snapped an 18-inning scoreless streak that dated back to the sixth inning of Friday's series opener.
The Orioles' victory gives them the third spot in the American League East by a half game after losing to the Yankees (72-64) following Satuday's defeat.
