Origins launches powerful anti-aging SPF 25 stem cell technology cream (Video)

Just in time for our spring and summer beauty supply shopping, Origins has launched an amazing, super powerful SPF anti-aging cream that’s packed with 300,000 raspberry plant stem cells that the company claims, “visibly reveres the signs of aging.”

While not yet sampled, the product, Plantscription SpF 14 Anit-aging Cream, inspired by the science of cellular plant regeneration, sounds fantastic. In addition to raspberry plant cell technology, the product contains a powerful ingredient called African Anogeissus. The highly-effective face cream addresses four major signs of skin aging by helping to correct the appearance of lines and wrinkles, lifting, smoothing skin’s texture and reviving bounce. Origins claims that “After just four weeks, 83% of panelists using Plantscription™ SPF 25 Anti-aging cream showed a reduction in the appearance of lines and wrinkles and an improvement in firmness of skin.”

What is a Plant Stem Cell?

A plant stem cell is a class of cells that exist in all plants. These cells have the unique ability to self renew. Plant stem cells are unspecialized or “undifferentiated” cells that are grouped together and can be found in different areas of the plant. Plant stem cells are equipped with regenerative properties. They can either form a large reservoir of unspecialized cells, or upon stimulation grow into “differentiated” plant elements and become a new root, a leaf, a flower or any other part of the plant.

Plant stem cells have a unique adaptive feature. Unlike animals, plants are immobile and cannot escape danger by running away. Instead, they have the ability to self-renew and are equipped with regenerative properties that facilitate plant growth and production of new plant parts throughout their lifetime. Plant stem cells have evolved to survive damage by regenerating new structures such as leaves and flowers.

The reason for raspberry

Among all the raspberry variants that were evaluated, the red raspberry variety Rubus Idaeus that was chosen as the source of stem cells was the one that contained the highest level of biologically active compounds. The raspberry strain was identified in Dei Lombardi, near Avellino on the Apennine Mountains in Italy. In 1980, a major earthquake devastated the small town and destroyed many of the historic Italian homes. After rebuilding brick by brick, a British expatriot with a passion for gardening was inspired to plant raspberry bushes. They flourished in the rich Italian soil and ripened into plump, succulent berries.
