Original web comic tackles the bizarre world of video game fanart

The realm of video game fanart is host to many strange odditites.  Not all works are simple recreations of the source material, instead fan artists can tend to become more liberal in their interpretations of their favorite gaming heroes by creating bizarre renditions featuring crossovers, mash-ups, and even gender bending sex changes.  The Console Game Examiner's latest web comic covers the trend of odd works of fanart with a look at a Sonic the Hedgehog piece if someone were to involve an actual live live hedgehog.  Check out the strip now.

Just how Nintendo forged a gaming empire on the shoulders of a pair of Italian plumbers, SEGA has created a dynasty on the Sonic.  This red-sneaker wearing hedgehog ran so fast that he left a blue blur behind him as he sped through strange earthen loops in order to collect golden rings.  It is clear that speed was definitely his forte and when he gets an unbroken length of track ahead of him, you can almost feel Sonic's adrenaline for yourself as he dashes at record-breaking speeds.
