2014 marks the 40th anniversary of the original 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre.' This spring a restored final cut emerged at the SXSW Film Festival. And now its been announced that the original cast of the iconic 1974 horror classic will be reuniting at this year's Housecore Horror Fest in Austin, TX.

This marks the second year of the horror movie and metal music festival, which was founded by Pantera vocalist Phil Anselmo and music journalist Corey Mitchell.

The cast of the original film includes Gunnar Hansen, Marilyn Burns, Edwin Neal, Allen Danzinger, William Vail, Teri McMinn, John Dugan, and Edward Guinn. They'll be in attendance for the full run of the festival, and will host a screening of the restored print, Q&A, and autograph signings.

The press release on the fest's official website goes into more detail on the festivities. Leatherface actor Gunnar Hansen declared, “I am looking forward to coming to Austin in October for the Housecore Horror Film Festival. It is always exciting to watch "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" in a theatre with an enthusiastic audience. But this time will be extra special – it will be the first time that all of us in the cast will see the movie together.”

Anselmo commented: “Texas Chainsaw Massacre' is such an incredibly important film...and to have all of these amazing people share this incredible anniversary with me and all of our friends is simply mind-blowing!”

This is the first major announcement for the Housecore line-up, but expect more announcements in the coming months.

Last year's lineup included musical performances by Anselmo's band Down, The Melvins, Gwar, and horror soundtrack scorers Goblin, in addition to filmmakers like Jorg Buttgereit, and Ruggero Deodato.

This year's festival will run October 23rd-26th.
