Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire news

With less than two weeks to go until the 51st annual Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire opens on April 6, 2013, the cast and crew are busy preparing for another season. They are taking classes, building up their environmental areas, and rehearsing to deliver another great year of Faire.

For all the patrons who are itching to come visit our shire, now is the time to buy your tickets. From now until March 31, you can purchase adult tickets for $17.50 (regular price $25) and child tickets for just $10.50 (regular price $15). To purchase tickets, click here. In addition, some new acts have been announced. First up is Wolgemut, a very unique minstrel's troupe that incorporates traditional material from various European countries including folk songs and dances from Sweden, France, German and the Balkans with comedy to create a Renaissance rock show.

The next new act is Gypsy Geoff - Fire Circus Show, a juggler, physical comedian and variety entertainer. Geoff is a master of mayhem and manipulation, and he's waiting to entertain you and your children.

If you want to stay in the area and attend both Saturday and Sunday, then the Doubletree in Monrovia is the place for you. Right now if you're among the first 100 to make a reservation, you will get a welcome bag, which comes with a language book and a signature shot glass. The Lord Mayor's package starts at $149 and includes two tickets to the Faire and complimentary shuttle service to and from the Faire. The Queen's package starts at $159, and includes everything in the Lord Mayor's package plus breakfast for two. Both deals are good Thursday through Sundays only.

Faire hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays, April 6 through May 19, 2013.
