This week at E3 2014 game studio Moon Studios revealed a new trailer for their upcoming Xbox One video game Ori and the Blind Forest. This breathtaking platformer was influenced by the developer's experiences on classic Super Nintendo games.
According to Moon Studios:
We all grew up playing games like 'Super Metroid,' 'Zelda: A Link to the Past,' etc. and with Ori, we wanted to recapture the magic of these games...Remember the first time you played Zelda or Metroid when you were a child? We hope that years from now people will also remember the first time they got to play Ori and the Blind Forest.
In Ori and the Blind Forest you're a Guardian Spirit. Beauty and Grace are your powers. This highly artistic title inspires players to feel real emotions.
This is going to be one of those games that might make you cry; we can feel that much already.
Ori and the Blind Forest features maze-like levels. As you gain experience you'll gain new skills and unlock new areas to explore. It's a format we've seen time and again, however the game's art direction is what makes this title stand apart from the crowd.
One thing you'll notice from the Ori and the Blind Forest trailer is how breathtaking it is. There's this stark juxtaposition between light and darkness. It's a contrast which, amongst the myriad of other colorful stages, makes Ori and the Blind Forest visually appealing. It looks absolutely stunning, and we can't wait to get our hands on it.
Ori and the Blind Forest is headed for Xbox One and PC in the fall of 2014.
