Thanksgiving is only 3 weeks away. Yes, it’s time to start planning the meal. This is your friendly reminder to not forget the touches of the meal that are often overlooked. Stay organized this Thanksgiving and impress your guests by incorporating festive touches throughout your home.

Entryway – The entryway is the first room your guests see when entering your home so make sure the room is clean and welcoming. Keep the light on for guests. Make sure there is a rug at the door for guests to wipe their feet or leave their shoes. Be sure you have room in the coat closet for guests’ coats. Guests should feel welcomed during their entire stay and it starts at the door they enter!

Centerpiece – The table is the focal point of the Thanksgiving meal so do not overlook the center of the table. Simple candles with leaves and acorns add color to the table. This is also a ‘green’ centerpiece that many of your guests will enjoy!

Place cards– Add place cards to each person’s place setting. This saves time when the meal is served because people can get to their seat and begin eating faster. No need to spend money on expensive place card holders, use the tongs of the fork to hold the card vertical. It looks great and is fun!

Leftovers – Leftovers are often the best part of Thanksgiving dinner so make sure you have enough plastic ware to send your guests home with leftovers or to fill and stock your freezer. Plan ahead!

The turkey, stuffing and potatoes are important on Thanksgiving but planning ahead allows your guests to feel satisfied and welcomed. It’s the little things that make a big difference around the holidays! Enjoy planning and getting organized…Thanksgiving is just 3 weeks away!
