Organist Naji Hakim to perform at Houston's Scared Heart Co-Cathedral

You are invited to the First Anniversary Organ Recital of the Pasi Organ Opus 19 at The Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.

World-renowned Labanese-born French composer organist Naji Hakim will perform in recital Friday, October 14, 2011 at 8pm. This will be the first celebrity organ recital in this year's Co-Cathedral Concert Series.

Dr. Hakim is the recipient of the Papal Cross from Pope Benedict XVI in recognition of his contributions to sacred Catholic Music, and the successor to Olivier Messiaen at Église de la Trinité. He is passionate about the traditions of Gregorian chant and Maronite chant and incorporates those musics in his own compositions. He was commissioned by the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston to compose for the new Co-Cathedral’s opening liturgy on April 2, 2008. This is Naji Hakims’ first visit to the Co-Cathedral.

Tickets are $15 for general admission and $25 for reserved seating.

The Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral is located downtown at 1111 St. Joseph Parkway @ San Jacinto, Houston, Texas 77002
