Organic Pizza Company opens its doors in Denver

Pizza lovers, listen up! A brand new concept in take-and-bake pizza has come to Denver. Organic Pizza Company opened its doors Friday, September 24th in the Highlands.

What is OPC? Organic Pizza Company provides Denver consumers with a new option in responsible and sustainable dining. They are serving signature pizzas and salads, all containing certified organic, all-natural ingredients, and locally sourced whenever possible. OPC's pizzas are even available gluten-free.

But these pizzas aren't just your ordinary take-and-bake. The pizzas and salads feature such gourmet ingredients as truffle oil, smoked duck, and Asian pear. All pizzas are sent home with fresh herbs for you to add after baking. The 13 delicious combinations include:

  • The Norwegian - Delicate pesto sauce with four-cheese blend, smoked salmon, red onions, fresh spinach, capers and feta cheese. A side of freshly chopped basil to add after baking.

  • The Jamaican - Tangy vodka sauce with mozzarella cheese, Jamaican jerked chicken, orange and red bell peppers, caramelized shallots, and sundried tomatoes. A side of freshly chopped cilantro to add after baking.
  • The Wild West - Fresh tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, ground buffalo meat, green bell peppers, sweet Vidalia onions, cremini mushrooms and green olives. A side of freshly chopped cilantro to add after baking.

Pepperoni lovers, don't fret! Traditional ingredients are on hand as well in case you aren't quite ready to take a walk on the wild side. Use any of their ingredients to build your own favorite combinations.

OPC takes it one step further than the standard take-and-bake places as they are committed to sustainable business practices, which means using less packaging, conserving resources, partnering with environmentally conscious vendors, and recycling. Additionally, OPC is a proud partner of Metro CareRing, a Denver-based nonprofit organization assisting people through times of crisis, and advocating for solutions to hunger and povertyOPC does their part by donating excess fresh produce and 10 percent of proceeds from “The Metro CareRing” pizza to the organization. Furthermore, they offer consumers the option to forgo their eleventh pizza, normally free, and instead donate the cost of it to Metro CareRing.

Head on up to the Highlands now to take yours home (4500 W. 38th Ave. Suite #110). The grand opening will be Sunday, October 3rd with lots of giveaways and pizza specials. If you live in the area, OPC also delivers. Call for details. A second location, downtown Denver in the Spire building, is slated to open in November. Check out their website for details.
