When you think of Los Angeles, what comes to mind first? More than likely it’s the great weather year round, the movie making taking place and those celebrity encounters you’re bound to experience while visiting. Like it or not, L.A is also notorious for trend setting and following; obviously due to the high profile-types it plays home to. Whether you see this as a good thing or bad, L.A has definitely helped set some of the most popular trends in motion. Ugly ugg boots worn with shorts or a skirt, giant sunglasses that cover half your face, small dogs as accessories, fohawks, and the ability to speak using only acronyms, just to name a few. Yes, this city has given us much to laugh about, talk about, write about and an inevitably fall victim to.
Lately it has seemed that going organic has become the new way of living out here and I have to say this is one trend I’m happy to see gaining a following. Organic foods have great benefits for all people, but buying organic can be expensive and finding places to dine out can be quite the hassle. While running errands this weekend, I happened to stumble across a neat little place perfect for an organic diner and I had to give it a try.
O! Burger, located at 8593 Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood sits along the South side of the street within a small strip of stores and eateries. The entire area around O! Burger screams out to the health conscious as gyms, salons, juice shops and organic shopping (for both yourself and your pet) occupy the blocks surrounding it. O! Burger isn’t fancy and reminds me of a cross between In-N-Out Burger and Café Primo on Sunset blvd. It has a fast food vibe with a café feel to it as the menu consists of burgers, fries and salads, but the outdoor seating suits that more of a café. The service is friendly and informative and there’s a certain sort of pride the staff has about their place of work which is always a plus.
O! Burger’s entire menu is organic and offers beef, turkey and veggie options. Everything is prepared fresh and even their tap water is filtered to help eliminate all the toxins in water from getting into your system. If you’re a burger and fries kind-of-guy, this place well satisfy your craving yet not leave you feeling like a bump on a log for the rest of your day like regular “fast food” does. If you’re a soda-drinker, you won’t be here as O! Burger is soda free seeing as nothing in soda is remotely good for you- yes even the diet drinks are bad for you! O! Burger is a great way to try out some organic food and not break the bank while doing so. If you’ve ever been curious about the difference in quality and taste between traditionally prepared food and organic food, now is the time to jump on the trend-train and give it a try at O! Burger!
