Organic cotton clothing can be pricey and hard to find, but several companies are creating affordable, casual attire for the whole family.

Sub_Urban Riot is a Venice-based apparel company that creates 100% organic cotton casual apparel products and features the designs of up-and-coming artists, all with an affordable price tag. Sub_Urban Riot also has a boy’s 8-20 line available at Bloomingdales, Urban Outfitters, and urbanoutfitters.com.

My Earth Too! is a line of 100% organic cotton apparel for women and children that donates a portion of its proceeds to the Chuckie Goodnight Foundation For The Environment, a non-profit organization that provides environmental education for children and preserves green space. My Earth Too is available at JC Penney and Kohls.

One of the largest organic apparel companies in Europe, Hessnatur launched in the U.S. last year. Hessnatur creates 100% organic, toxin-free clothing for the whole family, including babies. For newborns with particularly sensitive skin, hessnatur has created styles using only unbleached, un-dyed fabrics. Not only are hessnatur baby clothes free from harmful chemicals that can cause allergies, the fabrics are actually softer than conventional fabrics. Details like flat seams, waists and cuffs that grow with the baby, and functional construction that doesn’t inhibit movement, make the clothing worth a still affordable price.

Huddy Buddy's new organic tees and onesies include cute, eco-friendly-from-the-crib messages like "I'm a source of renewable energy" and "Bring back the big wheel." Huddy Buddy is available at Bellies and Booties in Lawrenceville, NJ.

I am glad to see so many great choices in organic cotton clothing. This surge of a mindful type purchase ( in the long run ) will make a great difference to keeping our "water tables" in tact for everyones future.
