Frozen desserts are a favorite treat around most homes. Whether it’s sunny or snowy outside, everyone can use a tasty cool treat now and then.
This recipe is a healthier take on a chocolate and almond candy bar. With yogurt as the base and dark chocolate chunks for extra chocolaty goodness, you may not want to go back to those calorie packed candy bars!
Organic chocolate frozen yogurt with almonds and dark chocolate chunks
- 3 tsp org cocoa powder
- ½ c organic sugar
- 1 c low fat plain organic yogurt
- 1 oz organic dark chocolate bar (approximately 1/3 bar)
- 1/3 c organic almonds
- 1 c 2% organic milk
Put almonds in food processor and pulse until coarsely chopped; set aside. Add chocolate bar to food processor and pulse until coarsely chopped; set aside. In blender, combine yogurt, cocoa powder, milk & sugar until well blended.
Add yogurt mixture to ice-cream maker and churn 20 minutes. Stir in chocolate chunks and almonds then transfer to airtight container or serving dish, freeze additional 20 min before serving. Enjoy!
