Nabisco is at it again, and when we say “at it” we mean birthing new Oreo flavors. This time around Oreo will be rolling out new “cookie dough" and "marshmallow crispy" flavors in February according to Today.com on Jan. 23, 2014.
The “cookie dough” Oreo consists of the classic chocolate Oreo cookie wafers complete with cookie dough filling including tiny chocolate chips. The “marshmallow crispy”, or the Rice Crispy treat wannabe, is made up of the Golden Oreo cookie wafers topped with a marshmallow filling with crisped rice.
The “cookie dough” and “marshmallow crispy” flavors are a part Oreo’s limited edition universe. Limited edition Oreos are no stranger to consumers as Nabisco releases them rather regularly (remember last summer’s “watermelon” or 2012’s “birthday cake”).
The new Oreo cookies will hit shelves in Wal-Mart, Target, and other major retailers on Feb. 3, and as with the other limited edition Oreos, will be available for about six to eight weeks or until they're gone.
An Oreo commercial with a secret hashtag will also be revealed before this, in an ad airing during the Grammy Awards on Jan. 26. This secret hashtag will allow viewers to tweet in order to receive a free sample before the cookies make their formal debut.
