Orentheus Taylor Takes Over the Reigns at JCM

Orentheus Taylor has been tabbed as the new coach at Jackson Central Merry.

Taylor, 29, replaces Martez Edwards who

In 2011, when Edwards took the program over JCM struggled with a 2-8 record, but improved to win five games and make the playoffs in 2012.

"I was very impressed with what Coach Taylor stands for and his vision of where to take our football program," JCM principal Eric Jones said. "He comes from a great family and he has the intangibles to get our student athletes to reach great heights."

Taylor served as the wide receivers coach at Haywood County the last two years and before that started his coaching career at Fayette Ware.

He graduated from Dyersburg and was the East-West Shrine game Defensive MVP and started his college career at UT- Martin before transferring to Tennessee State to finish his career.

He take over a Cougar team that are returning 16 starters and is ranked No. 10 in Examiner.com's Class 3A Spring Top 10.

Rich Hired to Lead Soddy Daisy Defense
Tyler Rich who has been the Defensive Coordinator at Red Bank the previous two seasons has been hired in the same capacity at Soddy Daisy.

"The ability for us to hire Tyler is huge. He brings a lot of experience and success with him as a player, coach, and coordinator from his time at Red Bank," New Trojan head coach Justin Barnes said.

Rich has spent five seasons at Red Bank and two years at East Ridge as well.

"He is a coach that builds relationships with his players and can easily relate to them. The thing that I really liked about Tyler, is that he is a demanding coach that will hold the kids accountable," Barnes said.
