Oregon Capital
Know your rights! Today, Oregonians have more rights thanks to Senate Bill 628. Starting today, lenders will have to meet either face to face or over the phone with home owners facing foreclosure.
This mortgage crisis has affected us all in one way or another. People facing foreclosure should contact their lender immediately. One of the options the lender may have is to modify the existing loan. Once the Notice of Default is delivered, home owners have 30 days to request a modification with the lender.
Here are some steps to get back on track.
1. Call your lender today and see if you qualify for help.
2. Fill out any paperwork the lender requires and return it promptly.
3. If you need assistance or are intimidated by the process, call 503.516.2279 for a free consultation. (The Home Mediation Center charges a fee, however, they are very knowledgeable and there is no charge to call and get advice on how to proceed.)
If you are facing losing your home, then this is a giant shot in the arm of hope. It’s time to get down to business and be proactive. Don’t wait for the problem to fix itself, it won’t go away. This new law gives Oregonians the chance they need to get back on track!
