Each year the Oregon Wine Board sponsors a statewide Symposium to provide the wine industry with the most up-to-date techniques, education and products for both grape growers and winemakers. The event brings people from Oregon’s wine regions together where they can share ideas, network and shop for items that will improve their businesses.
Scheduled for February 19-20, 2013 in Portland, the Oregon Wine Board expects 1500 attendees, making it the largest in its history. Popular with both vintners and farmers who tend to our many vineyards, the sessions focus on Business, Viticulture and Enology. Trade Show vendors fill the Oregon Wine Industry Symposium (OWIS) with innovative products and services all geared toward the continued success of Oregon wine.
OWIS kicks off with a State of the Industry presentation that recounts the most important issues faced during the last year, moderated by Tom Danowski, Executive Director of the Oregon Wine Board.
Attendees will find the symposium packed with educational tracks teaching best practices, technical wine tastings and recommendations on how to build a well-known and respected brand. A live auction and special dinner featuring some of Portland’s hottest restaurants; Bluehour, Saucebox and Clarklewis are an anticipated end to day one of the symposium. The second day continues with more sessions, networking opportunities, a silent auction and time to discover new products at the nearby trade show.
Non Oregon Winegrowers Association Members can save $40 on a Full Symposium Pass if purchased before the early-bird deadline of February 8. Tickets are also available to visit the Trade Show without attending the sessions. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn, taste, bid and buy at this year’s Oregon Wine Industry Symposium.
