SmartGlobe Infinity employs the Smart Pen—a wireless talking pen-like device that relates information about the globe’s countries including capitals, population and history, and also cues dozens of game applications.

SmartGlobe Theme Globes, sold separately, extend the Infinity concept via easy substitution of the original globe unit with either SmartGlobe Mysterious World Accessory (featuring interesting things about the countries, like landmarks, wildlife and natural wonders) or glow-in-the-dark SmartGlobe Star Accessory (constellations and planets) replacement “accessory” globes.

The SmartGlobe Infinity series is always current thanks to online updating capabilities. The SmartGlobe Discovery likewise offers updatable Smart Pen functions, but in a smaller, less expensive version that’s not as versatile as the Infinity.

Besides SmartGlobes, though, Oregon Scientific showcased its pocket-sized ATC GeckoHD wide-view video camera. The digicam can clip onto just about anything, including the user—via a wrist strap.
