According to Wednesday's KCBY News, a Coquille, Ore., man is facing felony animal cruelty charges for allegedly shooting and killing his neighbor's dog.

On Tuesday, police arrested and charged 30-year-old Jed Bradly Alexander for shooting his neighbor's dog in the head; the dog's body, with a gunshot wound to the ear, was found in the yard when the police arrived.

According to The World, when Alexander was questioned about his motive for the shooting, he could not provide one. The dog belonged to friends of the alleged killer - they had all been out drinking prior to the shooting.

Alexander, a convicted felon, is facing more than animal cruelty charges - officers found several firearms at his home which he was not allowed to be in possession of.

Police booked Alexander into the Coos County Jail and he is facing multiple charges, including felon in possession of a weapon and aggravated animal abuse.
