Oregon man hires son to kill neighbor's dog

A father and son are facing charges of first-degree aggravated animal abuse in Canby, Ore., following the death of their neighbor's dog.

According to Wednesday's Oregon Live News, David James Walkoski, 61, hired his 30-year-old son, Derek James Walkoski, to shoot, and kill, a neighbor's black Labrador retriever.

It is unclear why the neighbor's dog, named "Paws," was targeted by the men.

Derek Walkowski has an extensive criminal record, including charges of theft, drug and weapons from a separate case, and he also has been behind on his court-ordered child support payments.

The father, son duo are also facing a charge for possession of meth.
