The Oregon Ducks just lost one of their main cogs for the upcoming football season. On Thursday night, Bruce Feldman reported via Aaron Fentress that WR Bralon Addison tore his ACL.

Although he might be able to make a comeback at some point next season, Addison has a long road ahead of him. Addison was expected to be the go to receiver after amassing 900 yards and seven touchdowns in 2013.

With the loss, Oregon needs to replace plenty of talent on the outside, so their young players have to step up to the plate.

Earlier in the month, Oregon point guard Johnathan Loyd came out for spring practice. It was exciting to hear about his prospects of contributing to the team in his first football season in five years, but now Loyd might be more of a necessity than a luxury.

Oregon begins the season on Aug. 30 with a game against South Dakota. Then the Ducks face off with Rose Bowl Champion Michigan State in week two.

The past two seasons, Oregon has had tremendous let downs at the end of the season. Stanford has been their biggest nemesis, thus the Ducks need every advantage that they can get. For now, it looks like the PAC-12 title is not possible, yet they will still be in the running for the College football playoffs.
