Historic Edisto Memorial Gardens is Orangeburg's most beloved tourist stops. It sprang forth to life in the 1920's over 5 acres adorned with Azalea shrubs. Home owners and citizens in the area can turn to these gardens still today for inspiration for their own landscape. If it grows well in the Edisto Gardens, chances are it will grow well in most yards throughout the area.
Today, Edisto Memorial Gardens is home to much more than a few azaleas. With over 50 rosebeds, many varieties of lillies, Cherry trees, Cypus and Conifers all laden in Spanish moss it is easy to dream of ways to bring this sort of beauty into one's own yard.
We can't recreate Edisto Memorial Gardens on a large scale but we can get a lot of tips from this beautiful garden to help us decide on what we can plant in our own yards. Couple that with the beautiful statues and fountains and you can have your own Edisto Memorial Gardens, right at home.
