The 2012 Orange You Glad Music Festival makes its return to Orlando this year March 8-11, with a pre-party kickoff scheduled for March 7th at the Backbooth. Rather than taking place at a set location, each day of the live music festival will encompass different areas of Orlando.
Aside from national and international headliners, there are many local Orlando bands on the schedule including The Pauses, Wet Nurse, Maximino, Great Deceivers, Saskatchewan, Larf, Fortune Howl, Grant, The Broken Inn, and Out Go The Lights. There are also several bands from throughout Florida on the bill including Roadkill Ghost Choir, Levek, Hear Hums, Fake Problems, and Hundred Waters. Bands playing the festival are still being announced.
The different venues for this year’s festival include The Plaza Live, BackBooth, Wills Pub, Wally’s, Stardust, Peacock Room, Park Ave. CD’s, Uncle Lou’s, Lil Indies, Substance, and more. Wednesday’s pre-party events are in Downtown Orlando, Thursday’s and Saturday’s shows are in the Mills/50 district, Friday’s is scheduled in The Milk District, and Sunday’s closing line-up is in the Audubon Park area. There will be artists, vendors, and popular food trucks situated near venues for the event.
Festival passes are only $30 for all four days, and does not include the pre-party at the BackBooth. Music fans can also purchase single day tickets. Visit the Orange You Glad web site for more details and links to advance ticket purchasing.
This is a terrific, affordable opportunity for music fans to check out a sampling of some of the abundant musical talent available in Orlando.
