While people have long rocked out coral colored lipstick, many of the Spring 2014 fashion shows featured lips that were straight up orange. This bold trend may seem intimidating, but much like red, it is easy to incorporate into everyday wear. The key is to work with your skin tone and choose a color that is complementary rather than just grabbing the most trendy shade.

For those who want to try the trend in a more subtle manner, a sheer lipstick is a great way to go. Brands like Clinique Chubby Stick offer a sheer pop of color that will brighten your pout without making it look garish. Try the Oversized Orange color and add a kiss of tangerine to your look.

Traditionalists should opt for a red-orange color. Since these shades are closer to traditional reds, they won't be as off putting and will be easier to incorporate into your look. Stila Color Balm lipstick in Valentina is a rich orange hue that complements many skin tones in a sexy and feminine way. This color is perfect for those who want to dip their toes into the orange pool first.

Daring types will love going all out with a full orange lip. The key to making this color look good is to determine whether your skin looks better with reddish orange or yellow orange, and then just experiment. Maybelline's Color Sensational Vivids lipstick in Electric Orange is a nice mid-range orange that will instantly brighten your look.

Don't be afraid of color this season. With the warming temperatures, you'll want to brighten your face as well. Although orange doesn't seem like a go-to color for lips, this season, it's all the rage. Give it a shot.
