'Orange is the New Black' gears up for Season 2

The surprise Netflix original hit, Orange is the New Black is getting fans amped up for season 2. The show is loosely based on the 2010 memoir by Piper Kerman, Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison. Born into a well-to-do family of doctors and educators, Piper began dating a woman who dealt heroin for an international drug cartel. She was ultimately arrested and convicted of money laundering and in 2004 she served thirteen months of a fifteen month sentence.

Orange is the New Black follows Piper (played by Taylor Schilling) and her experience in a women's prison. In season 1 we watch her character go from a scared, little rich girl to a woman who can hold her own in a women's prison. The season finale gives us a glimpse of the darker side of Piper and leaves us with one heck of a cliff-hanger!

Season 2 brings us new inmates, new back stories, and continuations from the previous season (Daya and Officer John Bennett anyone?). It premieres exclusively on Netflix on Friday, June 6, 2014. You can view the season 2 trailer HERE.
