The Opry Mills Mall was destroyed almost one year after a historic flood ravaged Nashville in what many remember as a once in a lifetime disaster. On Tuesday, the Opry Mills Mall announced that they have reached an agreement with its lenders, to finance the rebuilding of the mall.
Opry Mills Mall drew in thousands of people every year who came to Nashville to hear country music and relax on vacation has since been closed as litigation has been a focus on bringing it back to life. In addition the flagship retail stores of this complex have also come on board for the rebuilding efforts and once again the big stores like Regal Cinemas Opry Mills Stadium 20 & IMAX, Dave & Buster's, Rainforest Cafe, Pro Bass Stores and Aquarium Restaurant have decided to return to the property.
For the entertainment industry, this announcement is great news. Nashville is the heart of country music with celebrities of the entertainment world working in and around the community to cater to the tourists. From the Grand Ole Opry to the small nightclubs where country music is found, there is no doubt the rebuilding of one of the biggest tourist meccas in the region will bring more people back to the heart of the music.
In every big entertainment base there is always a large mall that caters to the needs of those looking for a little shopping with entertainment flair. Hollywood has the Hollywood and Highlands Mall, Time Square has the entire area of shopping and now Nashville can have hopes of returning back to some normalcy with the Opry Mills Mall opening once again.
This property, if you haven’t ever been there in the past, is only 7 miles from downtown and right next to the Grand Ole Opry, a country western music institution and a walk from Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, one of the biggest convention centers in the south.
