Oprah Winfrey will host "Remembering Whitney: The Oprah Interview," on the OWN Network on Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 9-11 pm ET. The two hour show will feature legendary singer Whitney Houston's last in-depth television interview from the Oprah Winfrey Show that aired in September 2009. The interview that will be shown on Thursday is from Oprah's season 24 premiere in which Houston performs "I Didn't Know My Own Strength."
During the interview that will be re-broadcast during the "Remembering Whitney" show on Feb 16, Houston is shown talking to Winfrey about the private struggles she tried to hide from public view and discussing her marriage to R&B star Bobby Brown, her struggles with drug abuse and why she retreated from the spotlight. She also mentions her sadness over the passing of music superstar Michael Jackson and her hopes for the future.
Whitney Houston died on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
