Oprah Winfrey is all set to premiere OWN nationwide on January 1, 2011, and the network has announced details about opening weekend and the regular schedule to follow. “During our launch weekend, the audience will see a little of everything OWN has to offer,” Christina Norman, chief executive officer of OWN, said in a press release. Opening weekend will include a series titled Season 25: Oprah Behind The Scenes and Oprah’s All-Stars with expert advice from Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil and Suze Orman, plus sneak peeks at Oprah’s other new shows on OWN.
OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) is dedicated to producing original series and specials “that inform and inspire people to live their best lives.” Highlights of OWN programming include Cristina’s Big Bowl of Love with Cristina Ferrare, Enough Already With Peter Walsh, The Gayle King Show, In The Bedroom With Dr. Laura Berman, Kidnapped By The Kids, Miracle Detectives, Oprah Presents Master Class, Our America with Lisa Ling, and Your OWN Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star.
In addition, OWN recently announced three more original shows will air later in the season: The Judds starring Naomi and Wynonna Judd, Carson-Nation with fashion and design expert Carson Kressley, and Ryan and Tatum: The O’Neals.
