President Obama, the first lady and Oprah have pulled out all the stops to get the 2016 Olympic summer games represented in Chicago. Obama, Oprah and the first lady are standing up for their home city. They each are launching a blitz of visits and meetings to speak to members of the International Olympic Committee (IOU) and try to persuade their vote. Oprah has international influence and hopes to use that. She is proud of her city and would love to see the 2016 Olympic summer games held there, Oprah said in a statement, ABC News reported.
The 2002 Olympic winter games were held in Salt Lake City, and Mitt Romney who organized those games told Good Morning America this morning that members of the IOU will make their decision in those final days before the vote.
"It's a battle -- we're going to win -- take no prisoners," the first lady said with a smile to with reporters in the White House State Dining Room, CNN reported.
