Oprah Winfrey hurt her back when lifting a heavy birthday gift – flowers from close friend Tyler Perry. Reports from E! Online on Jan. 30 explain the “Alex Cross” actor enjoys sending flowers as gifts to his friends on special occasions.
When Oprah went to lift her huge birthday flower arrangement, she reportedly strained her back. She is now nursing her back in the hopes she will feel better soon. Tyler Perry went on his Facebook profile and updated his status:
"I FEEL SO BAD."
"I like to send really large flower arrangements to people for whatever occasion. Well, I sent one to Oprah yesterday for her birthday. She strained her back picking it up. No joke! Feel better Oprah. Happy birthday. Sorry. :-( Next year I'm sending her one rose. :-)"
Oprah and Tyler Perry have become close friends over the years. The well known talk show host featured Perry on her show for an interview which focused on child abuse in 2010 which really hit close to home for her.
As a child abuse survivor herself, Oprah found herself truly relating to the experiences he discussed on her show.
Oprah replied to Perry via her Twitter account: “@tylerperry no need to feel bad, love the roses and got an extra day in bed. Can you say #icepack”
