Oprah has a half sister - the news that 'shook her to her core' on Oprah today!

Oprah has a half sister she never knew existed, and she shared this with her audience today on Oprah! Oprah found out about her half sister, Patricia, right before Thanksgiving. The news after all these years of a sister, left Oprah “speechless.”

Oprah’s half sister’s name is Patricia, and Oprah did not provide a last name. The Queen of talk shows wanted her audience to hear the news from her first on her Oprah show before the media found out and made it into something else. Oprah said the news of a sister “literally shook me to my core,” according to the LA Times.

Patricia, is 10 years younger than Oprah, making Oprah a big sister! Oprah told her audience how her half sister realized she was related to Oprah. She finally made contact with Patricia in Milwaukee, which was documented on home video. Oprah publicly thanked her sister for not going to the media with this information, but instead contacting Oprah herself.

Oprah’s childhood was not the best at times. She was born to unwed teens and was raised by her grandmother, her mother, father, and stepmother at various times in her young life.

Oprah shared another private time of her life with her fans on Piers Morgan’s CNN show this week. Oprah was pregnant when she was 14, but her baby died a short time later. On the Piers Morgan Show Oprah said that she believes she would not be where she is today if she had the baby.

Oprah’s popularity stems from times like these, where she shares her real life stories with her audience. She is a woman who puts on no acts. As one of the richest women on the face of the earth, the word “elite” has never existed in Oprah’s presentation. She is a regular human being, who has gone through some horrific times in her life.

Oprah came to Connecticut last month to interview Dr. Petit, the doctor who lost his wife and two daughters in the most horrific home invasion Connecticut has ever seen, according to the Hartford Courant. It may be Oprah’s reputation that got her this interview with the grieving Connecticut doctor in the first place. Oprah was the first big name interviewer granted an interview with the doctor in his Connecticut home.
