Would you like some Oprah Chai tea? The former talk show host and founder of the OWN cable television network is now getting in the business of tea. According to a report by the Hollywood Reporter on March 19, Oprah Winfrey is teaming up with Starbucks to launch a new tea venture.

Winfrey announced the launch of Oprah Chai Wednesday afternoon during a live-stream. Greeted by Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, Oprah expressed her love affair with tea and her chance to share her special blend with other tea lovers.

“I don’t just like tea,” said Winfrey. “I love tea. And it really is a blend that I love that I came up with…with the teaologist at Starbucks and Teavana.”

Oprah excitedly revealed that her Oprah Chai will hit Starbucks and Teavana stores towards the end of April. Not only that, but proceeds will go to charities that help youth education, including the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa.

Schultz shared Oprah’s enthusiasm about the launch of the tea stating the Starbucks hopes to elevate the customer’s tea experience in the same way coffee lovers enjoy their experience. He also recognized Oprah as an inspirational leader.

“I am personally humbled to work with such an inspirational leader and visionary who shares so many of our core values and beliefs. I truly believe that, together, we will set the bar for a world-class tea experience at Starbucks and Teavana.”
