Sausalito celebrated its 61st annual art festival with the Fire & Ice Gala. Over 1,000 attendees turned out to support the organization and preview works from participating artists first hand. Two-time Chair of the Sausalito Art Festival, Wayne Kaleck showed off his own artistic talents. He collaborated with decorators to create a stunning atmosphere for dinner that looked like an art installation itself.
The SF Socialite Examiner spotted Alisa Burgess at Monday’s Opera Guild Black Tie Holiday Dinner, wearing a luxurious purchase from this year’s festival. She stepped out of the box pairing delicate Swarovski crystal and cashmere arm warmers with her floor length gown.
Another recent success story from the Sausalito Art Festival is Kue King who showed last year. He has spent 2013 sailing the globe, achieving milestones and creating art along the way. His metal sculptures have been acquired by two significant modern museums in South America, The Center for Contemporary Art in Quito and the Museum of Anthropology and Contemporary Arts in Guayaquil, to hang as permanent sculptures. King is also showing his collection for the first time at Art Basel Miami Beach, which concludes tomorrow.
Proceeds from the Sausalito Art Festival Fire & Ice Gala are supporting a newly launched program connecting students with working artists. Show your support at the next gala “Carnevale: Unmask your Imagination in the Fall of next year.
