Vertical Response is accepting applications through February 6th from teen entrepreneurs between the ages of 13 and 18. Teens in Los Angeles and around the country with either their own business or a great business idea can submit a 2-minute video for a chance to win seed cash and other prizes. The grand prizewinner will receive $4,000 and a trip to TEDxTeen on March 30-31 in New York. Two 2nd place winners will win $2,000 each. All finalists will get an autographed copy of the book “Your Starting Point for Student Success” by Ariel Moodie.
The 2 minute video should explain the name of the product or service, what it does, how the teen came up with the idea, who the customers are and what the teen will do with the seed money if they win it.
As entrepreneurship is considered to be the wave of the future, entering this contest is one way for teen entrepreneurs to think about starting their own businesses and to learn about what other entrepreneurial teens are doing. Seasoned entrepreneurs and small business experts who are passionate about teen entrepreneurship will view the finalist’s videos.
