The local library is not only a source for a wealth of books, it offers programs and sponsors events that will appeal to a wide range of interests and needs all over the Valley.

Grandreaders and books, in which 'Grandreader' volunteers read to young children is a program from the Caruthers library. This two hour long event is as various times and days. Fig Garden has a GAB reading time, where volunteers will read one on one with your child. Leo Politi library has a summer storytime event for your preschool children every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.

Game nights for children and teens are hosted by Fig Garden, Sunnyside libraries and Orange Cove libraries at various times and days.

Many local libraries, such as Caruthers, Cedar/Clinton and Orange Cove, among others, also have a movie night. Check your local library for specific movie times and what's showing.

Want to learn more about your computer? The Central library is offering a class called: Beyond Word Basics that will teach you how to cut and paste, format a document and print it, among other skills.

This is only a partial list of the many wonderful programs available at your local library. There are art classes, from anime and basket making to knitting and needle craft.

All these events are free of charge and open to all.

Don't miss out.
