The commonly talked about “Obamacare,” formally the Affordable Care Act (ACA) signed into law by President Barack Obama in 2010 is finally fast approaching its full deployment on January 1, 2014 which will have a major affect on the American people.
The Oakland Public Library is encouraging its Oakland residents to be informed by offering objective information on the Affordable Care Act and how it will begin to affect them in 2014.
The informational session, Making Sense of Health Care Reform, will take place at the Diamond Branch on Saturday, September 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Facilitated by Denise Lombard, this free event will dive into important aspects of the ACA such as enrollment which begins October 1, 2013 and how it will affect certain groups such as women, health practitioners and small businesses.
This event is a great opportunity to learn about the legislation before making any enrolment decisions and be able to ask any pertinent questions.
Get a snapshot of what to expect by visiting the US Department of Health and Human Services website where users can watch videos and use an interactive map to find out how the ACA will make changes in their state.
Users are also able to sign up for newsletters via email or text to receive updates on the new legislation.
