Its cargo – affordable health care coverage.
Its destination – ports unknown where myriad people live that cannot afford to see a doctor.
Its mission – save the masses from the capitalists.
No. Those running the ship are in panic mode because the ship is taking on more and more water; its bilge pump operators, Jay Carney and the liberal media, can't pump fast enough.
The signature law of the 44th President of the United States is looking more and more like the Titanic or the Hindenburg. Both - great super-sized ideas, that ended in disaster.
But it should be of no surprise to anyone that has followed the congressional fight over health care reform since President Obama's first term.
The President spoke on Monday at a press conference in an effort to patch some of the holes where Obamacare is taking on water. He said, "You can bypass the website and apply by phone or in person. So don’t let problems with the website deter you from signing up.”
Hello Mr. President.... a man walked on the moon more than four decades ago... and now, you want us to go back to relying on Ma Bell for sign-up? Isn't that a giant leap backwards for mankind?
The President also offered another alternative to sign-up. Pen and paper. What's that in this digital age?
He did not seem near as coy though, as when he spoke five days before the launch and said, "This is real simple. It’s a website where you can compare and purchase affordable health insurance plans, side-by-side, the same way you shop for a plane ticket on Kayak, same way you shop for a TV on Amazon."
Well apparently it is not that simple Mr. President. Or perhaps your helms woman, DHHS Secretary Katherine Sebelius did not articulate to the engine operators how simple it was suppose to be.
Mr. President... Mr. President? Are you listening? You better get out the lifeboats for the handful that have managed to jump into your safety net while the ship is going down.
Mr. President? You are the captain aren't you? You better come down off the golf deck because it appears no one is at the helm!
