Opinion: How Many Promotions in Michigan Do We Need?

Question: How many promotions does the state of Michigan need for all it's wrestlers? Actually the real question is, how many LEGIT promotions does this state have with TRAINED wrestlers that know what they are doing in the ring? I have had a slight problem figuring this out, not just by the names on the shows, but how many pop-up promotions there are that running against long running and established companies with talent and rosters that make you scratch your head saying "who", while having a former WWE/ECW/TNA/WCW/ROH/ETC.. guy against there "top talent" that still makes you question who they are and what green pasture they trained on. I know I have been "out of the loop" for some time, but questioning some long running wrestlers and then them themselves trying to google the names makes me question why this is being allowed. It was simple a good 5-6 years ago to figure out who was what because "yarders" were not putting up rings in buildings, they stayed in there shadows, but nowadays they are running where legit names and faces should taking away fans and money that they trained for. Seems that alot of guys who were "blacklisted" or took what they called "enough" training are purchasing rings and gathering friends together and securing buildings that are looking for any type of extra income, and then passing themselves off as "professional" companies and running a guantlet by facing off against 2nd generation promoters who have established the area and name for themselves with a fanbase.

Detroit has always been a hotbed for wrestling talent through the last few decades, with some of its' stars achieveing the next level of the WWE and TNA because they did "hard time" to get there. Nowadays, it seems anyone with a pocketbook and a wet dream can pass themselves off as a promoter and steal away money that guys have trained and worked years for. If we could classify just who was a legit promoter and company in this state, I would not be shocked if the number would be cut by 75% as to how many promotions we would have in this state, as well as active talent.
