Opie and Anthony still bitter over Howard Stern's success

Shock jocks Opie & Anthony re-upped their contracts with Sirius XM for the next two years, but are still begrudging "that guy down the hall" Howard Stern for his bargaining power.

"I'm beyond pissed," said Opie to his listening audience after  signing a new contract this week.  "They [Sirius XM] got all their points.  We got nothing."

Opie went on to reveal that the deal he and his longtime partnered signed was essentially scored them essentially the same salary they've been receiving for years.

"That deal was mediocre and this deal is mediocre," said Opie, before lamenting the bargaining power his team lost after the Sirius XM merger.

Opie & Anthony also stated their belief that Howard Stern was due for a "huge" money offer from Sirius XM CEO Mel Karmazin.  Stern's $500 million 5 year contract with Sirius XM expires in 2011 and there has still been no announcement about the Howard Stern Show's future.

It's unclear how many Sirius XM subscribers are tuning in exclusively for Howard Stern related content but the estimates run as high as 10 million.

Stern has teased his audience with assertions that he'll either retire and "go stare at a wall" or perhaps take his show to an online podcast format.

Considering that "Mr. Free Speech" Howie cried like a little bitch when O&A talked about him on the air and went to Mel to tell them to not mention his name I am not surprised. I mean Howie made his career talking about Imus on the air and the second someone else mentions his name he turns into a little baby. Howard is a big hypocrite. Remember him making fun of Imus "trophy wife" and then making fun of her when she wrote a book?

I have listened to o&a when they were on wjfk out of DC as well as on xm I don't find much funny on there show! Don't they get it, the reason Howard had them stop talking about him is become he can! They are to stupid to understand that. Howard, and Howard alone has the power on Sirius XM, It was kind of like when you're training your dog you jerk its choke chain! The Poor little puppies just need to be trained.

O and A are Lame. So what if Howard told them to shut it hes the best ever. The reason they make the money they do make is because of Howard. Without Norton they blow anyhow.

Are these guys funny? I haven't laughed a single time ever listening to them, they aren't even in the same planet as Stern when it comes to talent.
