What models wear on their nails during Fashion Week has become just as important as their hair styling and makeup. Here's a behind-the-scenes report from BeautyPress on some of the hot nail trends from OPI at New York Fashion Week's Fall/Winter 2013 shows.
OPI joined BCBGMAXAZRIA in kicking off Mercedes Benz Fashion Week on February 7th at Lincoln Center. Models walked the runway wearing OPI nail lacquer in Black Onyx topped with a coat ofOPI Matte Nail Envy for a slightly matte finish with a little gloss. The dark nails provided a great complement to the black, white and blue hues, bold prints, and firs that were showcased in the Fall/Winter 2013 collection.
OPI and designer Gabriela Perezutti collaborated for the Candela presentation. Models wore OPI nail lacquer in Don't Pretzel My Buttons. This warm nude shade nicely complemented the collection's rustic, romantic feel.
At the Katharine Polk for Houghton show, models wore tips painted with OPI nail lacquer inSamoan Sand and topped with an extravagant lace featured in several of Polk's designs. The nails were then given a slightly pointed oval shape for a one-of-a-kind look. Attached, please find a close up picture of one of the dresses featuring the lace, as well as an image of the final nail look. Photos can be credited to OPI.
At Jenni Kayne’s Fall/Winter 2013 presentation, models wore OPI nail lacquer in MonSooner or Later. This bright coral red hue added a bold pop of color to the collection's mix of dark camel, black, nude, emerald and gold. The nails complemented a similarly bright shade on lips. Please view the attached images for a look at the presentation, including a close-up shot of the nails against Jenni Kayne's deconstructed paisley done with bold absinthe yellow.
