“This is our call to everyone to join us in letting their inner Soul Shine! Let's all get together for one night, as a start, to help those in need and lend a helping hand. There are too many people suffering, cold and hungry. It doesn't need to be that way. Let's not lose our humanity and stand by while others need our help. Clothe someone. Feed someone. Uplift someone. We can do this if we try”. This is what Scott Miks, planner of Operation Soul Shine had to say. What is Operation Soul Shine? It is music and people coming together for a cause thanks to Other World Productions and Scott Miks. If you can make this event please come out and support those in need and enjoy a night of music that will rock you to the bone that includes: Hollywood Hustlers (featuring Ira Black), Stonebreed, Dive Bomber, Memory Layne (Alice In Chains Tribute), The Ominous, and Octane Mob. A show to benefit those who go without daily and this line-up. Can it get any better? Come out to Malone's Bar & Grill in Santa Ana, Friday night March 22, 2013 for the festivities and to join in on the fun!
The promoters of the show are asking “A donation of either $10 cash or $10 worth of food, clothing, blankets, personal hygiene supplies or pet food/supplies gets you in the show.....
All the proceeds (money, food, clothing, toiletries) will be going to Monday Night Mission, a program that provides for the homeless on Skid Row DAILY!!!! The pet food and supplies will be going to Reservoir Dawgs Sanctuary!!” As you can see the money will be well spent and go to those that are in need, including animals.
If you are unfamilar with Monday Night Mission they are a homeless shelter in LA. Their mission is “The sole aim of Monday Night Mission is to feed the less fortunate of Skid-Row who are turned away from Skid-Row shelters. We feed our Homeless Brothers and Sisters on Skid-row every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night. We meet at the Burger King at 7.30 pm at 700 West Cesar e Chavez ave, Los Angeles CA 90012.” You can find out more about them on Facebook and see how you can help. Monday Night Mission wants you to know “We are a non-registered, non-profit organization and don’t accept any monetary donations. We are non-denominational and un-affiliated with any other non-profit or religious organizations.”
Operation Soul Shine also helps our 4 legged friends. This event is asking for pet food for Reservoir Dawgs Sanctuary. If you have not heard of them this is how they would like to introduce themselves “A private setting for dogs looking for wonderful families along with a few visitors from time to time that love to hike, swim, train & play the day away.... We are here if you have a pooch & need some help. Need a pooch & can't find YOUR Best Friend. Chase your Tail through the site & give a Bark if you have a question. :)” As you can see Reservoir Dawgs Sanctuary is a shelter for dogs. If you have a dog you know that there is an expensie in care and food. Operation Soul Shine would like to help Reservoir Dawgs Sanctuary on the cost of food and supplies. If you can donate any dog food it would be more than appreciated. You can also look them up on Facebook for more info.
Events like Operation Soul Shine are the best of all worlds. It is a great night of music of top notch Rock Music for the cause to help those in need, including animals. Hard times can happen to anyone. Lets help those in our own backyard and have a great time doing it.
